Counsel the Culture Foundation is a mission-driven non-profit organization dedicated to empowering creative and mental health-focused individuals by providing temporary staffing solutions that support art, wellness, and culturally enriched workplaces.

Mission and Vision

Mission: To connect creatives, counselors, and wellness professionals with organizations and initiatives that need temporary staffing, ensuring mental health awareness and cultural empowerment are central to every placement.

Vision: A workforce where mental health, creativity, and cultural understanding are valued, and where professionals in these fields have access to flexible employment opportunities that promote growth and support their well-being.

Counsel the Culture supports the community through collaborative efforts, namely Creative Partnerships and Wellness Partnerships.

This campaign provides mental health awareness and advocacy by providing community resources, education and support that encourages all to express themselves through performing arts while also gaining knowledge and skills in arts administration.

  • If you are an artist, you can become one of our Artistic Partners and share your journey and art with us to broaden our collective reach. You can also access mental health support and resources through our wellness partners.

  • If you are a wellness expert, wellness brand or community advocate you can become a Wellness Partner and collaborate with us to create impactful programs for the community while expanding your clientele in the process.

Our Program Solutions:

  • Initiatives like open mics, community art shows, and interactive art installations that bring people together to share creative works and encourage dialogues about mental health. These events can foster a sense of connection, reduce stigma, and make wellness resources more accessible.

  • Hands-on workshops that combine mental health practices with creative activities, such as poetry writing, painting, music, or dance, allowing participants to explore their emotions and build self-expression skills in a supportive environment

  • Programs designed specifically for students, offering creative wellness workshops and mental health resources on college campuses. Through these events, we encourage young adults to explore creativity as a form of self-care and stress management.

The HBCU Art of Mental Health Tour, is on a mission to highlight and support Historically Black Colleges and Universities that often go unrecognized, yet play a critical role in educating and empowering the next generation. Many of these schools face unique financial and resource challenges, making it difficult to fund programs that nurture both academic and mental well-being.

These HBCUs are rich in culture, resilience, and innovation. However, limited funding means students may not always have access to the wellness resources, artistic outlets, and mental health support systems that other institutions often provide. By showcasing these schools on our tour, we’re shining a light on their vital contributions and bringing much-needed resources to their communities.

Our goal is to bridge this gap by providing workshops, performances, and conversations that encourage healing and self-expression through art. We’re also creating connections with potential sponsors and partners who believe in the power of supporting HBCUs and investing in the mental wellness of their students.

This tour isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about building sustainable support and fostering environments where students and faculty can thrive.

Join us in uplifting these incredible institutions and ensuring that every HBCU, regardless of its size or funding, receives the recognition, support, and resources it deserves.

Objectives

  • Increase awareness about mental health issues and reduce the stigma associated with seeking help. Offer valuable mental health resources and support to students and staff.

  • Utilize art as a medium to express and manage mental health challenges.

  • Promote participating HBCUs on a national platform, highlighting their commitment to student well-being.
